Victoria and Albert Museum up its game

V&A Licensing is leading the way in heritage licensing and is continuing the museum’s founding mission, to provide design resources to creative industries and manufacturing companies worldwide.

The range of product categories is diverse, spanning jewellery and accessories through to ceramic tableware and interior furnishings.

The popularity and demand for the V&A brand has grown internationally and within the UK, which has given V&A the opportunity to develop exclusive ranges for multiples at home and abroad, from M&S to Dillards, as well as some DTR deals that are close to coming to fruition.

In March 2012, to coincide with the London Olympics, the V&A will stage an exhibition of British Design spanning 1948–2012. The show will be the first to celebrate Post-war British Art and Design.

The theme will offer a unique opportunity for licensing ground breaking designs, some of which have never previously been displayed. In particular, it seems that the textiles from the 50s, 60s and 70s have huge commercial potential and are ideal for application to a wide variety of product categories.
