Long live art licenses
The Victoria and Albert Museum are having many sucesses with the company's licensing programme this year.
At the US licensing awards V&A won an award for Best Art/Design Program and have now been short-listed for Best Brand Licensed Property at this year's UK Licensing awards.
Most recently V&A has signed two new deals for licenses with Ethel Gloves and Radley.
Ethel Gloves are based in California and manufacture fitted gardening gloves. The first range will be launched in conjunction with the V&A’s Cult of Beauty exhibition - one of the major touring exhibitions, which will travel to the Musee D’Orsay in Paris then the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
The V&A gloves will be distributed in the USA and UK.
Radley is a quirky, creative British brand that makes beautiful handbags and accessories known for their high quality, and distinctive designs. The V&A range was inspired by three diverse patterns from a 19th century William Morris design to a novelty pattern from the 1920s.
The range is due in Radley retail stores and through wholesale distribution worldwide.
V&A licensed products are sold in department stores, independents and online with global distribution.
