GRISly Google

A new addition to the ever expanding offering of google sees the search engine come up with a tool that could become invaluable to artists and art licensing agencies everywhere.
You may have seen from two very informative art licensing blogs recently (http://blog.advocate-art.com/ and www.joanbeiriger.blogspot.com) that google GRIS (Google Reverse Image Search) enables an artist or agency to see if anyone else is using your artwork online illegally.
It is especially helpful if a website has stolen an image and is selling it without your permission.
Simply go into google images and in the search bar there is a new camera icon; click on this and you will be able to upload your image, which will in seconds bring up every site that may be using it.
Also shown is a group of similar images, which could be helpful for inspiration.
Released on 14th June GRIS has received positive feedback already, and although far from perfect, it seems it is the best image search engine to date.
